 Excel Machinery, an employee owned company!

In 1969, Jake Diel founded Jake Diel Construction Machinery in Hereford, TX. Diel established the company in order to fill the equipment needs of his construction company. Taking advantage of the off season, the knowledge and time of construction workers was utilized to convert the construction equipment repair operation into a profit center. The company began to apply its expertise in buying and refurbishing machinery and soon the employee base had grown to 35. After this expansion, the company rapidly outgrew the Hereford facility. In May of 1989 the land in Amarillo, TX was purchased and construction began on a 32,000 square feet facility. In 1994 a 24,000 sq foot shop and an 8,000 square foot warehouse was added.

Today, Excel Machinery employees approximately 90 people, has 75,000 square feet of combined shop and office space, and has three branch offices. Excel also became 100% employee owned in 2010! Excel serves markets both in the United States and internationally. We manufacture everything from crushers and portable screening plants to conveyors and electrical control packages. And all the related parts!
